Does anyone have hearing loss?

I recently got told I need hearing aids, if you have young children how did you explain it to them? My oldest is 6. Middle child is 4 and my youngest is almost 2.

I was born with hearing loss, but didn't find out until I was 18. My little cousin lives to pull them off my ears but I tell him that I won't hear his laughing if he does. He says sorry here are your ears!

I have a mild hearing loss that needs hearing aids, but I recently got diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, so I'm trying to save up money for that and not hearing aids at the moment 😊

Hey Hayley,

Although I am not sure on how you would speak to your children about it from experience, I do know that kids are receptive to most anything if you just explain it. I would probably just let them know that mommy has had trouble hearing sounds, and this little device helps mommy hear! Maybe explain that it's kind of like a headphone to hear music. But you can hear all the sounds they do.

May I ask how you found out you needed hearing aids? Or what lead up to that? If it's too personal, I understand. I've been having a lot of issues with my hearing and am nervous to know what the Drs say.

I'm really not worry about the baby I'm pregnant with because it's all she'll know.
