Has anyone had success with IUI?

Question

Next month I turn 40 and it will mark 1 year since TTC and six months since a miscarriage. My ob/gyn just referred me to a specialist and said they will most likely suggest IVF. I never thought I would be here. I’m healthy, I do ovulate and my cycles are regular. I don’t feel ready to make the IVF leap but from what I’ve read the IUI success rate is very low. Has it worked for any one here?

I am 40 yrs old on my 3rd iui! Praying third times the charm. We said we wld do one more and then move on to IVF. I ovulate and am healthy with 2 older children. My problem is my left fallopian tube is blocked.

Yes, the first doctor I went to wanted to go to straight to IVF. My gut said to get a second opinion, the next doctor gave me a 50% chance of getting pregnant with 3 IUIs. We got pregnant on our third attempt using Femara. I really trust my current doctor and his staff spoke highly of him, which put me at ease. There is so much $$$ in IVF and I feel that sometimes the push to go that direction isn’t always with the patients best interest in mind.
