Contractions ?

Question

Can anyone tell me what a contraction feels like? I’m due in 17 days and I have no idea if I’ve been having contractions or baby is moving?..
I’m scared if I don’t figure it out then I’ll wait too long to go to hospital..
Will I know for sure when I’m having them?

oh you will know trust me. they are hard and heavy and consistent.

You haven't felt baby move? In how long? At this point you should definitely be feeling baby a lot. There isn't much room in there. Contractions will be like period cramps, but 100% worse. They will stop you in your tracks. If you are having Braxton hicks it will be like a tightening of your belly and uncomfortable, but you can still do things. You will know when it's a real one. It's intense. If you haven't felt baby moving though I would definitely call your doctor!!

Also you can experience contractions in your back. I know this because i did! I didn’t have one stomach pain during my whole labour, constant back pain with even more painful peaks of pain 😩

I had this problem, i didn’t have Brixton hicks at all, then began having period pains, even the midwife told me this wasn’t labour or contractions, although when I timed them they were regular. After 5 days of this I took myself to the hospital as I was so fed up, where they suddenly become much much stronger but they weren’t very regular. Sometimes I wouldn’t have one for a good few minutes, then I would get several back to back. If I moved or when to the toilet they got a lot worse. 
They went from period type pain to feeling like someone had two hands up me and were ripping out my insides. It was far worse then I ever imagined. I’m not saying this to scare you, but no one warned me how bad it would be. If they had I feel I would have been able to deal with it better!
