Safety is better than cute

I've seen pictures with chords, changing tables on the edge of tables without adhesive on the back, pillows and stuffed animals in cribs, netting above and around the crib. I'm just quite surprised especially if you are planning on putting the baby in the crib from day 1. Clearly you are going to do what you want but can you put aside the cuteness and think about the well being of your child? Anyone else shocked by some nursery pics?
