My husband and I both decided that we would prefer her to come after the 20th (because we weren't quite ready lol) my due date was February 25th. On the 13th we were doing our regular nightly routine getting ready to call it a night and go to bed, well around 3:30am I was laying in bed and was awaken by a "popping" sound so I went to the bathroom thinking I better see what that was about 🤔 (I have 2 previous and never had my water break on its own) so I look to see when I wipe and there was streaks of blood. I start to pace the bathroom thinking, is this really it!? And blurt out to my husband "crap" and his response was "what's wrong?" I said "I think my water just broke". We leave our house an hour later after hearing back from the doctor to go on in to the hospital. My contractions were barely noticeable at this point 10-15 mins apart and mostly felt like menstrual cramps. We get to the hospital and they confirm my water did indeed break and send me right over to L&D.; Now I tested positive for group B strep so they wanted to get my first dose of antibiotics going. 5 hours later I ask for something for the pain so I can rest a little. Contractions not consistent, the doctor recommends potocin to get them closer together and I then tell them I would want an epidural before that happens from my previous experience I couldn't tolerate the intensity (I went in with expectations of both kinds of labor) so I gave in at this point since I didn't also play into consideration my water would break on its own and have a shorter timeline to get baby out. It's 1:00 pm and I feel pressure but it would go away once the contraction was over so I didn't think I was ready to push. by 3:30 the doctor comes in and checks me and says "if you push we're gonna have a baby" and said let's try next contraction. I started pushing and she was out in 2 contractions! I couldn't believe it was so fast but a big relief! Lol
