I could be in my 40's and my parents would still treat act like it's a child having a child

Heather • Welder, my trade is my life

how did you go about telling your parents you were expecting and how far along were you when you did? my SO and I became accidentally pregnant last year. at the age of 21 my father screamed "16 and pregnant, great, what did I do wrong" and told me I wasn't welcome at their home. my SO and I had rough patches and in the delicate events I think he saw them much more severe out of shock that we were expecting. unfortunately I miscarried. we started trying once I had licked my wounds and became pregnant within the first try! we are so excited!!!!!! we decided to hold off until we make it to 12 weeks. I'm nervous though, because I know it's going to be a negative reaction. I don't understand why, we have been happily together for 3 years, lived together for 2, own a happy dog and crazy cat and have a beautiful home and careers! maybe it's because I'm going back to school? I don't even want advice, I just want someone to agree with me that their negativity isn't justified and shouldn't be internalized
