How to tell when Circumcision is done healing?

We got my son circumcised around 9 days ago, we’ve been putting the gauze and Vaseline on it to help it heal and keep it from sticking to his diaper. The doctor who did it doesn’t use the one method with the plastic ring so he doesn’t have that on him, he just told use to keep Vaseline on it. My husband didn’t put the gauze and Vaseline on it last night after changing him and it didn’t stick to his diaper. I just want to know how long it took for your son’s to heal and do you think its okay to stop putting the Vaseline and gauze on it now since it didn’t stick to his diaper? We don’t have a set pediatrician yet (still working on getting one ASAP).

My son is 17 days old now and he was circumcised when he was just two days old. It took his a good seven days to heal. We were told to just use the gauze for the first 24 hours. We could tell when it was healed. It was no longer red, it didn’t hurt him, it didn’t have the healing crusty stuff on it anymore. It looked completely normal. That’s when we stopped putting anything on it. :)

Our son’s was healed after a week. Our pediatrician said you can tell it’s healed when the redness is gone and the white tissue had faded. Keep using the vaseline and gauze until then. It prevents infection by separating it from pee and poo!

I’d just put the Vaseline on without the gauze. Just a little dollop for 5 more days. It’ll be done by the 2 week mark.

My sons was red for a while but I don’t remember exactly how long. Our pediatrician sent him home with gauze and Vaseline but said once the gauze fell off to only do the Vaseline so it didn’t stick. It took a while to look healed but you could tell it was getting better every day.
