Contractions stopped?

I was having regular contractions for a few days after my membrane sweep (they may have been Braxton Hicks) but now they’ve sort of just stopped. My sweep was done about 5 days ago. I don’t feel much tightness anymore and the baby is very low. I reached my due date yesterday and in the morning I had s little more mucus plug come out. The baby is moving ok I’m just wondering about the contractions. Should I be concerned?

Look up prodromal labor. Ive had it with my last two pregnancies - labor can start and stop and contractions can even be timeable and increase in frequency or strength, but then they stop for hours. I’m due Tuesday and have had contractions for almost 2 weeks now. They usually start every afternoon and go until I go to sleep. With my last baby I had it for 10 days and then was induced, but I’m hoping I won’t have to do that this time! Good luck!!

The sweep would only work within 24-36 hrs so you were probably close but it just wasn’t enough to send you into labor so it died down. My first baby I got two sweeps done and neither time worked but I always had spotting, intense contractions and always resulted in false labor. So depressing. My dr is gonna try on Monday with this baby and see if it works this time. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Good luck!!!

Don’t be concerned with it. I sat and had 4.5 hours on consistent contractions 6-8 mins apart on Feb 5th then they stopped, started back up again a few days later and stopped again. Still pregnant with contractions here and there that come and go! 41 weeks tomorrow!

I don’t think so. Stripping your membranes cause a release of prostaglandin. I’ve had mine stripped twice this week and I’m scheduled for a third on Friday...if I make it. If the contractions stopped I’m sure it was Braxton Hicks. Talked to your OB at your next appt about stripping again!
