Dude that I stop talking to

So this guy and I stop talking for about 1 month hit me up with the “hope is all well” well wtf does he think that I’m just going to continue to have a conversation with him like everything good ? I mean I don’t want to be mean about it, but our situation didn’t end well. Why is it that I’m receiving a text messages from him now when he had a couple of days to do

I thought that the last time when we spoke and argued we clear everything. Not understanding why he keeps trying to check up on me on random times. Any ideas on how to handle this ?
