Is this quote for a tattoo way too expensive?

So I’m getting this artwork done on my thigh roughly about the size of a 8x11 piece of paper. Little details will be made to make it look better but anyways my artist quoted me 850 for this. Um is it just me or is that insane?? I was hoping 450 at most?

You get what you pay for , i was always told good tattoos arent cheap and cheap tattoos arent good

I think that’s about right for a good artist. I paid 700 for mine.  It’s something that you’ll have for the rest of your life and you get what you paid for.

That’s a hugeeeee tattoo and I’d say for the size and detail 850 is more than fair. Mine was simple and cost $60, which I think is too low.

most shops would charge close to a grand for that. I have a tattoo that's 6 words took 30mins and paid 100. you get what you pay for. and I also have a tattoo that's a bass with roses that was 180 because I found and artist who doesn't charge alot but does decent work.

Its a very detailed tattoo and most shops go by time itll take to complete it. I have tattoos way less detailed and smaller for about $400. So id say thats a pretty understandable quote
