Not sure where else to post this...

We live in a row home between two neighbors who we love. Between the three of us, were probably the noisiest, were the only ones with a baby, and we also have people over pretty often. Usually one if not both neighbors also come over when we have parties, but I do always warn both of them when we’re having something going on, and tell them to let me know if we’re too loud, which they never do, but I try to be polite.

The problem is, one side has a maid who has no concept of our baby, she rolls the vacuum down the stairs scrapes the walls, I have no idea how she manages to clean so loudly but it ALWAYS wakes the baby in the am and from his nap. The same neighbor has also been doing construction for OVER A YEAR which also wakes baby in the am; and for naps. I feel bad complaining because the noise is during the day! But it’s so bad it shakes the house, and poor baby never gets a good nap in.

The other side has 4 dogs which have no concept of being quiet, they let them out at all hours and scream at them to come in, which wakes baby at night, and in the am, and for his naps. Similarly, I feel bad complaining, they’re always so nice to us, but both neighbors have very little awareness of the impact on our household. It’s not like they can silence their dogs or keep them inside. It’s not their fault their backdoor is right under our windows.

I’ve complained several times about the construction, he’s talked the the workers, but he keeps starting new projects with new crews, so i have to go ask them to be quiet again, it’s not like you can hammer softly, but the house isn’t that large, I don’t understand what is taking so long.

Wondering if any other city mamas have good ideas for handling the noise? Baby’s room is in the center of the upstairs, and he has a deafening noise machine on, but the noise is loud, I don’t sleep through it, I don’t expect him to. Even our cats are bothered by it 😂 Are we just doomed?
