Gender indecision

Has anyone opted to not find out the sex of their baby?

Hubby and I had our anatomy scan yesterday and we asked the tech not to tell us. We have the sex of the baby in a sealed envelope in my desk and haven’t decided if we want to know or if we want to be surprised at birth.

There have been quite a few people in my life that have told me, “well, even if YOU don’t find out, I need to know.” And I sit there going, “excuse me? If the woman carrying the child and the man who helped conceive and/or will be raising the child with her don’t find out, what makes you think you have a right to that knowledge?” I actually do a lot more cussing about it to my husband, but have any of you gone through something similar if you decided not to find out? Are you as peeved about other people’s imagined entitlement as I am?
