period has returned 6 weeks after baby and I'm breastfeeding

I gave birth 6 weeks ago and have been breastfeeding and introduced one bottle of formula just at nighttime for the past week and now my period has come back but my midwife told me that I wouldn't have a period for a few months. Is this normal? has anyone else's periods come back while their breastfeeding ?
