What getting an IUD is like and what happens

Halie

I recently got my IUD (I'm 17) and I wanted to explain as much as I possibly could what it felt like for anyone interested in getting one. To be blunt it hurt like hell for the duration of getting it put in but after it died down. The biggest thing is to relax if you're tense it hurts more. Remember ladies the Gynecologist is your friend and won't hurt you on purpose. how they begin is they open your cervix, which in my opinion was the worst part. After they measure your uterus which feels super weird and will more than likely feel like bad period cramps as well. Once you've been measured they put in the IUD and take all the tools out of your vag. Now, you're going to feel some cramping but nothing excruciating and plan on spotting for a little while. Sneezing kinda makes you want to cry a little at first, well at least in my case.

Hope this helps someone!
