My sister in law told her husband by buying fortune cookies and used tweezers to fish out the paper, wrote “you have a baby on the way” on it, and casually suggested that they order Chinese for dinner so he was not suspecting as it was delivered from a restaurant. She said the hardest part was using hot glue to super thinly re-seal the cookie in the plastic package. When she was plating the food she discreetly swapped the cookie! (She didn’t want to wait long enough for personalized cookies to arrive in the mail so zipped out to a local store and used white out on the original message)
 ... something simpler if you pop out to a baby store quickly and buy tiny baby shoes and slip them inside his shoe or slipper so when he puts them on he has a moment of confusion wondering what’s in his shoe, pulls it out and surprise! Or I plan on using my instant photo camera to take a picture of my positive pregnancy test (hoping that I will be fortunate to have one, one day) and lightly slide it under the top layer of coffee grounds in my decaf tub of coffee because my husband makes me a cappuccino every Saturday and Sunday morning while I sit at the peninsula having our morning chat and cuddle. That will give me a chance to record it as he is opening the container of coffee and when he goes to scoop grounds out he will hit the photo underneath :) I can write a little congrats message on the white part of the photo too with the due date
