Small hips = c- section?

Question

With my last pregnancy (ended in miscarriage) , one of my pregnant friends told me she is worried for me because of how small my hips are. I wear a size 0-2 in pants and im 5’4. Would my hips eventually widen out or does that mean I’ll definitely need a c- section for a future pregnancy?

Hip size doesn’t matter, it’s how big your pelvic opening is. 
I have super wide hips and a narrow pelvic bone. I’ve had 2 c sections.

Sadly a lot of doctors say you have a small pelvis as a scare tactic to do a Csection. They make more money on it and can control the birth. There is no definitive way to know before birth. Your body produces a hormone that helps relax the ligaments and your pubic symphasis is cartilage to allow the pelvis to separate. My SIL is tiny too and has had two completely natural births.

Small hips do not = small pelvic opening just as large hips don’t = large pelvic opening. My 4’11 grandmother never weighed over 100 lbs unless she was pregnant and had my 9+ lb mom naturally. This is something only your doctor is going to be to answer for you.

Your hips will shift if you get to 9 months. There are hormones released during pregnancy that soften your connective tissues allowing your hips to spread for birth. It’s a slow process. And when the baby’s head enters the birth canal is when the bulk of stretching will happen. Lots of changes in the last few weeks/days /hours leading up to labor.

I have a small diaphragm and because of that Ill probably always need a c section only because Im so small tjst thete isn't any room in there for babu to turn. which is true Ive had 2 c sections and both were breeched

They will likely widen. That’s what your body does, it accommodates for the baby. I’m shorter than you and the same size and I could have had a vagina birth but my baby was breech so I had a c section. I mean anyone could need to have a c section for a large variety of reasons but I don’t think you’re definitely going to need one.

I am also only 4'9 and pretty tiny. i had a csection not so much because of my hips because my pelvic bone doesnt move enough. They tried everything suction, forceps, patocin final options were csection or break my pelvic bone. So no it wasnt a scare tatic or an excuse!! what was scarey was everything they tried before csection. Do what is right for you dont let people tell you differently.
