Vitamin k drops?

My pediatrician recommended vitamin k drops but I forgot to ask why....and what brand is best. Any ideas?

Are you sure it was vitamin K? 
I’ve heard of giving babies (especially breastfed babies) vitamin D drops. It’s something babies can be lacking especially if you live in a place that isn’t very sunny. I live in Hawaii and my ped still recommended it for my EBF baby.

Vitamin K shot at birth for clotting issues. Vitamin D if BF.

drops arrest as effective as a shot, I was really interested, but decided the risk wasn't worth it. we opted for the preservative free shot
