My husband and I were both virgins on our wedding night. It was so awkward. Not in a we weren't comfortable with each other's bodies sort of way...we had done just about everything but intercourse, but we fumbled a lot...and we didn't have a lot of sex on our honeymoon either...we decided it wasn't worth stressing ourselves over. We've been married for 5 months now...I used to hate when people said this--but it gets soo much better. You've got a good man if you can both laugh about the awkward parts.

I think the most surprising thing for me was when I started crying and got a weird panicky feeling after. My first time was with my current SO on our first date. It felt amazing, and I've been crazy about him since the moment I met him, but I was going through a lot at that moment. First, I was shocked I slept with someone on the first date, I was worried about smelling like sex when I got home (I live with my mom, so that would've been awkward), I had to drive in Memphis traffic at night(almost getting hit by a semi truck), and I had started bleeding so I freaked out a little bit (despite knowing I would).

It was an extremely overwhelming day for me, but it got so much better.
