What diet do I choose?

I am 5'3 at 190 lbs. I've never been skinny, but I've been in much better shape. I am about to graduate so my stress level is finally starting to go down for the first time in the past 5 years. I just started aerobics 3 times a week and a spin class. I started eating all veggies because I watched a health documentary that showed studies that a higher intake of animal products like meat and dairy lead to heart disease and diabetes. So I started eating all veggies and very little cheese. well I just read a book about the keto zone diet that says to eat high protein and high fat but cut carbs. I can't go veggie and cut out all carbs too. so my question is Is it healthier to try to cut out animal products and go vegan? Or is it better to keep a higher protein and high fat diet with no carbs? both diets have shown similar benefits in their studies, but the high fat diet showed more weight loss results if you can believe it. idk what to do.
