Birth control and conceiving

A Dr told me today that I should try oral birth control to help with conceiving, I thought that sounds crazy but then she explained it to me. She said for the 6 months I am on it I obviously won't get pregnant but after I stop using them with in 6 months I should be pregnant. Plus they will regulate my period, clear my acne and help me gain weight. Do you think I should try this?
