Prolonged bleeding after stopping Depo

I have been bleeding since January 27th. My depo shot is suppose to be renewed March 1-15. I've been on it for a year as of March 1-15. My doctor wants me to start another birth control while on depo to stop the bleeding but I am tired of birth control and what it is doing to my body. What can I do to stop the prolonged bleeding? I read it could take 6 months to over a year to stop the side effect after stopping depo but the lining of my uterus is thin due to it and that scares me if I want to ever have kids so I want my uterus to stop shedding so crazy.
