Baby shower gifts?

My SO works with someone who recently had a baby. We were invited to the shower. We're not very close with her, so I thought I'd just get something generically cute for the baby. Any ideas?

Diapers and wipes are always very useful to new parents. You could also get blankets, you can never have too many of them.

Socks, blankets, diapers. Or even just a gift card for babies r us or something. If you get clothes make sure you keep in mind what season the baby will be for the age range.

If you get clothes, I'd go with a bigger size for when they're older. They won't be in new born clothes for long :)

Diapers, wipes, bath products like lotion or soap or washcloths and towels. I didn't buy wipes or bath products until my daughter was 14 months old thanks to generically cute shower gifts.

Are they registered anywhere?  You could always do gift card!  I would say NOT clothes, though. The last baby shower I went to I was literally the only person who didn't get her some unrealistic baby clothes (I got sheets she registered for)
