What advice would give a first time mom? What mistakes do you think all first time moms make? What advice would you give if you could talk to yourself the first time you became a mom?

If you need a break ask for one. Family and close friends that offered to watch your little one, let them. Even if it's in your own house while you take a shower and a nap. 
You can't spoil a baby. Don't feel guilty for wanting to hold them all the time. They grow super fast. 
Enjoy every moment, it's gone before you know it. 
If you have a bad feeling follow it. Who cares if you are the mom who calls the doctor for a cough? Could be pneumonia. (Actually had that happen) 
Relax you are a good mother. 
Take time for yourself and remember to be a wife too.

Relax... speaking from experience... no holding mirrors under the baby's nose to make sure he's breathing every 5 minutes due to an irrational fear of the unknown. He's fine.

Ask for help.

Forget the chores every once in a while.

Take pictures. Lots and lots of pictures.

Stop and smell the roses more often. During those little moments, memories are made.

Go with your gut. Don't let anyone else tell you what's best for your child. If you can't breast feed or don't want to, don't let any bully you into it or make you feel bad about. If you feel something isn't right (how baby is acting, how you feel emotionally) go see your Dr and have a talk with them.

It won't be perfect, In fact it will be far from perfect. But you will have a perfectly imperfect mess. You will become a diaper queen and you will care more about your babies poop more than youd ever like too.  Youll think of puke, poop, pee, spit up, boogers are part of your daily attire. 
Oh and keep contact with friends or when you think you're ready and the baby get out of the house, find some mommy groups because your sanity will need it!

It's okay to make mistakes. It's okay to ask for help. It's okay to cry! Stand for your own choices, gut, and believes. It's your pregnancy, your body, you and your SO (if applicable) child.. You do you!
