Prelabor??

Has anyone been told that they are in “prelabor”? Called my doctors office today due to some changes. TMI but had lots of stools today, followed by contractions which were inconsistent. Lost my plug a few days ago but I know that doesn’t really matter. Then the back pain kicked in, and wow it hurt. So they had me come in and told me that baby has dropped fully and that I am currently 2 centimeters dilated. She said I am to go home and see if these contractions become more consistent. My question is, if you were told you are in “prelabor” how soon after did your little one arrive? This is my second and due date is March 17th. Thanks in advance:)
