Can't stop bleeding

I have very heavy periods for weeks at a time. My last period was 30 days and my current is on week number 3. By heavy, I mean heavy! Wearing multiple pads and changing tampons every 2 hours with large clots. My IVF doctor put me on progesterone for two weeks and am now on birth control and have been so for over two weeks with no sign of stopping. They said everything looks normal and want me to continue to do the birth control for 2 more weeks. I'm so exhausted and want nothing more to stop bleeding so I can get pregnant. Anyone go through something similar???
