Wrong Gender At Screening?

Question

Has anyone ever had the doctor or sonographer tell them a gender and it turned out to be wrong? I'm just curious. I had my gender screening at 20 weeks and tomorrow (30 weeks), I'll be going in for another scan. I've had family send me girl stuff and wondered what we'd do with it if it actually turned out to be a boy! Haha. My hubby is adamant that the sonographer is correct and that he saw the vagina. But, I told him, "that could also be a swollen penis!" 😄 No matter what, though, I still love this baby. But, it'd be super fun to have a girl!

I've had three ultrasounds that say girl. So I'm pretty confident. Poor boy if it's a boy tho....haha

I've heard of this happening. My first scan was at 13 weeks, due to insurance, and they said boy. Then at 21 weeks they still said boy. My daughter will be quite confused if he turns out to be a girl.

I have a friend who just had her baby in May and they had no doubts about it being a girl. She ended up having a boy! Now I want another ultrasound!! Lol

Don't think it is as common as when your parents had us. Most have a general if I can't tell I won't say theroy to avoid things like that. My parents were told I was a boy and were a little surprised when I was missing a certain part at birth. Lol!

At 18 weeks we were told it's a girl. At 27 weeks we were told it's a boy!!!! Shocked!

I had a chromosome test to make sure baby was healthy and it came up with boy and it was the backed up on ultrasound 💙👣👣💙

I've heard of it happening. Worst comes to worse, you've got a boy dressed in pink or a girl in blue. It really doesn't seem like a big deal at all. It would be a surprise though! Might want to come up with a back-up name just in case. ;)

All my us at 20+ weeks were correct but my kids weren't shy so the only sure way to know the gender is birth

Usually with the right trained ultrasound tech you should be fine especially after having your 20wk anatomy scan since that's pretty intense

I've read that it's not uncommon to misjudge a girl for a boy (penis tucked somehow) but if it's a boy it's definitley a boy.
