Is it bad to pick up your baby every time they cry?

My baby's going through a crying spell and cries every time I put her down. I don't know whether to pick her up and offer comfort or let her cry it out. What should I do?

No it’s not bad at all! And anyone who will tell you that you can spoil a baby under 6 months is full of shit and their kids will probably have deep seated abandonment issues you can never fix!

Pick her up please babies always cry for a reason only way they can communicate with us and if you don’t respond they won’t understand why I’m strongly against crying it out i pick up my son the min he cries every time since he was born he’s 7 months dontplan on every stopping he always knows I’m there when he needs

I say do whatever you are comfortable with. All the health professionals say you can't spoil a baby with attention if that makes you feel a bit better. 
For me I've decided that my son is already growing too fast, he'll be 11 weeks tomorrow, so if he wants cuddled, that's what he'll get. All too soon he'll be a toddler and learning to be independent so I'm going to fit in all the cuddles I can while he is still small.
