Citrus Fruits- When to start?

I’m hearing a lot of conflicting information about what age baby can try citrus fruits. What age did your baby try citrus fruits? Did you notice any rashes from the acidity?

You don’t have to hold them off, just be aware the acid can cause butt rashes. My LO loves mangoes but she can’t eat them really because every time she poops they burn her butt so bad!

If you have a sensitive skinned baby and other things have triggered reactions, just hold off or give a small amount. So far my son has gotten face and diaper rashes from oranges, lemon, and strawberry and he’s almost 2. I can only give him a small taste.

My daughter had mandarin oranges around 9 months and no issues.

it depends on the kiddo! my girl is almost 3 and oranges still make her break out around her mouth. we try them every once in a while but she's too sensitive to them, which sticks because she loves cuties and oranges. I was the same way though, they grow out of it.

Also found out the hard way with clementines. I thought it was good for the vitamin c as she had been around some sickly kids. My daughter was about 10 months I want to say. The diaper rash was gnarly. Had to get a prescription from the pediatrician. I haven’t tried since 😬

My daughter likes to suck on limes and has never had a problem with it.

I think I probably introduced mandarin oranges cut up when she was around 9 months, I maybe only gave her 2 or 3 segments in the beginning, she never had any reactions, she’s 12.5 months now & can eat half a large orange, it’s her favorite fruit :) Strawberries so far are the only fruit that has triggered a rash

6 months we started. We found out the hard way that one Clementine was okay but two was too many. He got a wicked diaper rash. We cut the citrus out while the rash healed and have stuck to one clementine since. As for other citrus we just keep it to a small/average portion which he has been fine with.
