So I’m almost 10 weeks pregnant. I’m only 19 and will be 20 when I have the baby. All family is supportive. So my boyfriend is an only child and his mom is a nice lady but can be very overbearing. She keeps trying to make me like names she likes and I don’t and I politely say I already have some picked out. She called my boyfriend last night saying she calls dibs on the couch for the first week. She also told me I can’t go home to my parents house after I give birth. Also insisted she be in the room. I’m one of five kids and my mom knows how to take care of babies and she knows how I am, etc. this is both grandparents first grandchild and I understand their excitement. I invited his mother to come decorate the apartment and go shopping with us for nursery gear. She is very pushy and quite frankly kind of bossy, telling me what I need to wear and eat. Should I ignore or maybe talk to my boyfriend ? She keeps asking if she can be in the room for the birth and I really don’t feel comfortable but my boyfriend says she feels left out.
