Was 40+1 and got my membranes swept at my OB appt. I was told that if there’s any period like bleeding to go to L&D.;

I took a nap and woke up to a deep red clot on my pad. Called the OB department and was advised to go in.

They did a bunch of routine checks including cleaning out the blood, where they noticed there was still blood gushing. While it is normal, it was still over the “okayed” amount to let me go home with, so the team of doctors thought it be better safe than sorry and admitted me at 0.5cm dilated. We were so sure we were gonna be sent home.

Started off with misoprotosol to dilate went to 1cm. I was supposed to take another dose but baby’s heart rate dropped, so we had to do a balloon instead. Prior to balloon insertion I was at 2cm, in and out of sleep and I woke up to being 5cm dilated.

Now waiting on breakfast before taking pitocin and gonna try to get a walk in before getting the epidural. I’m so nervous, (it’s been 8 years since my last delivery) I’m hoping everything continues to go smoothly.

He should FINALLY be here this afternoon.
