Am I even producing?

I'm 23 weeks pregnant,Is there any way for me to know if I am producing milk or not? Or is there anything i can do to help myself produce? I was unable to breastfeed my first daughter because I hadn't produced enough. I really want to be able to breastfeed this baby.

Answer

While some women produce prior to giving birth most don't until the placenta comes out. Your body will store some colostrum for baby right before birth which will be replaced with milk. You can start eating foods to promote lactation such as oatmeal, flax and brewers yeast but I wouldn't worry about doing that now.
