Moving my due date down?

Question

So just had an ultrasound done today and he is measuring a week ahead of my due date? He measured right where he was suppose to be at the 20 weeks scan. Now I'm suppose to be 24 weeks 1 day but he's at 24 wks 5 days. I was due on June 21st and now it's the 17th? Am I still suppose to go off my first due date or the new US?

Due dates don’t mean jack when it comes to babies. They cone when they damned well please sometimes. For example: my first was due May 17th and he came May 16th, my second was due January 10th and they changed the due date to January 14th except the turkey came January 21st. 🤷‍♀️ 
It’s only an idea of when the baby will come based on numbers. Unless you’re scheduling a section there’s no way to know when they’ll actually come until they get here.

I would honestly, for your mental sanity in those last weeks, give yourself a “due week” or even a due month...my baby has been measuring consistently further and further ahead and my last ultrasound moved my EDD up eight days, but I keep the original due date in my head so I don’t get too terribly antsy there at the end...babies come when they want to, and they don’t know their due dates 😂😂😂

Doctors only can give a best guess when it comes to due dates. You could be further ahead or behind than what they say. I’ve measured differently at appointments too.
