Dry nipples !?

Question

I'm a ftm 22 weeks with a baby girl and lately my nipples have gotten so dry at the tip they hurt and crack I've been putting a lot of lotion but nothing works, is it normal or do I have something to be worried about? I have my heart set on breastfeeding so it worries me a bit.

I had that for a bit too in my second tri, it can be so sore! I used to use a little cotton pad with petroleum jelly in it and leave in my bra over the nipple, if anything it stopped the friction of the fabric. I also used my stretch mark lotion on them, I just thought because my lotion had vit e in it that it would help the nipples heal.. it helped anyway, im nearing the end of my third tri now and don't have the soreness and cracking anymore

Nipple cream or use A&D! Use the pads in your bra to keep from ruining it if you go with the A&D

My nipples were super dry and actually started peeling. It scared the crap out of me and I started crying. Apparently this is normal?! My doctor suggested I purchase lansinoh lanolin cream. It has serious helped. My nipples did a complete 180 and look and feel so much better. I highly recommend you buy some. It's with the breastfeeding supplies. It is extremely thick though so be gentle when putting it on bc it can hurt.

Mine do that too on occasion. Wear something to protect your nipples from your bra and put either neosporin or patroleum  jelly on them at night while you sleep. Itll help some.
