Does getting a D&c increase your chances of getting pregnant soon again?

Question

I saw someone post that getting a d & c increases your chances of getting pregnant again, is that true? It took 8 months after our first MC to get pregnant and this one is resulting in another MC. I'm obviously devastated and my biggest fear is it taking another 8 months. I know it can take a while to get pregnant regardless, just trying to get some incite.

I had a d&c the first miscarriage and it took me a year to get pregnant again, then I had anothe miscarriage and did not need a d&c, I got pregnant 4 months later. Sadly it also ended in a miscarriage, but I'm thankful I did not need a d&c with this one either. I can only hope and pray that the next baby sticks and I get my rainbow baby.

I have not found any studies that showed an increase in fertility after d&c. I had a miscarriage in April and I did a lot of research. There is a slightly higher chance of conceiving in the first three months after a miscarriage however, d&c or natural. I'm sorry for your losses.

I know after my D&C my doctor told me to NOT get pregnant until i get 2 periods just because she said after a MC and surgery there is a surge of hormones going through the body because of all the changes taking place and because of that it's easier to get pregnant right away. But that's just what my OB said!

I think how fast you get pregnant all depends on your body, and when it's ready. I had a D&E (the next step after a D&C) and it only took me and my husband five months to get pregnant. My miscarriage before that was approximately the same amount of time 4/5 months. I guess I tend to heal fast. Sending you well Wishes mama!

I don't think it helps or hurts your chances. Although I was told to wait 3 months after mine to make sure my cycles went back to normal. My cycle was normal the next month but I still waited 3 and thankfully got pregnant right away.

I had a D&C back in January and then got pregnant again my third cycle after (last month) It ended in a chemical though so I don't know.
