Has anyone ever used a doula? I am currently looking into working with one, but just curious to know what some of your experiences were with them.

I'm still pregnant with my first and hired a doula, but my friends who had one all said they never regretted it for an instant. They all pretty much said the same thing--that theirs helped them so much. My doula has been super helpful with getting me recommendations for care, advice about my pregnancy, and just being a kind ear. I feel like I made a good decision and feel a lot less anxiety about going into labor.
