Maternity leave

I have been trying to figure out when I'm going to go on maternity leave. And was wondering what everyone else is doing.

My husband wants me to stop working a month early because I have already been swelling (I work at a super hot pizza place) and I went into labour 2 weeks early last pregnancy, and he doesn't want me to go into labour at work.

I live in Canada, and am going to take 18 months of paid mat leave, but I am going to see if I can maybe get sick leave for the time I take off during my pregnancy so I get to spend the full 18 months with the baby.
