Ya know what’s funny/ ironic/ sad all at the same time?! Let me tell ya...

Exactly 1 year ago today I was 10 days late for the first time in my life. We’d be trying for only about 3 months and I really thought “this is the month!” We had plans to wait at the hospital for my sister in laws baby, and she went into labor just a few hours before AF showed up for me. I quickly hit rock bottom. I went from being excited to catch a glimpse of what my life would look like in 9 months to jealous and hurt. I felt like the world had been planning this cruel joke behind my back, only to reveal it in a way that would sting the worst.

12 months later, a few emotional breakdowns, and a handful of appointments with a fertility doctor and I can’t believe we’re in nearly the same position! Still unable to get pregnant, and with more questions than answers about how to get pregnant. Oh and I started today too, late again! The only major difference is that we won’t even have the opportunity to try again until my husband gets home from his deployment.

This last year+ of trying has be exhausting, heartbreaking, and exciting all in one! And I’ve always had at least a little hope even when I probably shouldn’t have... but I think I’ve finally lost that. I can’t handle another announcement or post about adoption right now. I don’t know how I will even be able to get through this alone this time. How do people do this for years... or make it through miscarriages? How do any of us continue peeing on these sticks when we know they’ll be negative for the millionth time?

I think for my sanity, the rest of this year will consist of NOT adding baby things to my Amazon wishlist and obsessively updating Glow. Instead I will ~try~ focusing on my physical and mental health. God knows I’ll need some R&R; to make it til 2019!
