Does IUI hurt?

Simple question, but does it hurt when they put the sperm in?!?

I had my first iui a few days ago and didn’t feel a thing. I’m also doing accupunture and that couldn’t of helped symptoms. Goodluck!

Honestly you don’t really feel it. I’ve had 8 IUI so far and only for one of them I had cramps for 24h following the IUI as the doc probably scraped the side a little.

I just had my second IUI. the speculum and Cath I couldn't feel a thing. Inserting the sperm caused strong cramping. Strong enough I had to breath deeply throughout.

I just had my first one last week and it really doesn't hurt at all. Kinda like a Pap smear. So no worries and good luck!

I had my first IUI end of last month, at first it felt like a pap exam but then there was an uncomfortable sensation that went from my lower back down to my knees. I wouldn't say painful but uncomfortable enough I was glad you just lay there for a few minutes after its done... by time the nurse was back with the paperwork and it was time to go the feeling was gone and I didn't have any other cramps after that. From reading on here, its seems like everyones experience is a little different. Good luck with your journey ❤

Sperm in no.  Slight pinch/cramp when they inserted the cath.  Pinch was literally 1 second and she had me count to 10 for the cramp to subside before inserting sperm.  Didn’t feel anything after in I started counting.   She said it aas reallybto just make me relax and untense.

I just had my second, it’s uncomfortable for less than a minute and then it’s over. First one was a little more uncomfortable just because I didn’t know what to expect.

My first IUI last month hurt, it wasn’t like cramps either, I don’t know how to explain the feeling. Hopefully this upcoming one won’t be the same.
