should children be at the ceremony ?

It was just brought to my attention that we maybe should not allow children to come to our ceremony beside the flower girl. the Children would still come to the  Reception and we would get child care for the ceremony. I was told that having children present could ruin the ceremony for the bride and groom. I love my nieces and nephews and would like them apart of this moment but my Fiance agrees with not having children apart of the ceremony because they are young and won't Remember not being there for that part. I was wondering if I could get others opinions on the matter.

I personally cant imagine my wedding day without my little brother and nephews. They are my world. They will be 8, 7, and 1 1/2 when we get married. I trust that my sister in law and brother will be able to control them just fine, and if the little one does get cranky, it just is what it is. I don’t see it as ruining the ceremony. They are family, they deserve to be present, even if the little one wont remember it. They are also part of the wedding so i need them lol. There will be a couple other kids there too though, and i dont mind at all. However, if you really feel that it will upset you and your husband if they were to act up, then trust your gut and dont have them there.

I recently attended a wedding where there was a child screaming through the bride walking down the aisle and during the vows. The same child ran around during the first dance too. Children can definitely ruin your ceremony, and it’s not a chance I would want to take. Personally we are having an 18+ wedding with absolutely no kids at the ceremony or reception

I was 5 when my mom got married the second time and I could not have imagined not being there. I was also at my uncles wedding when I was 4/5 and I rember just as clear as my moms. I could not imagine not having kids at my wedding.

I was 9 months old when I went to my parents wedding (they were very young when they got pregnant and they waited 18 months to get married) and all I did was sleep and poop. I dont remember it but I'm glad I was there.

It's your decision whether you want them there or not. You and your Fiance can decide that. No one can tell you not to have kids at your wedding. I have never heard that before.

my sister had two little twin boys in her wedding as ring bearers. they stood on the stage during the ceremony as their mom was a bridesmaid. anyways, they were acting like normal children and one of them rolled down the stairs from the stage DURING THE CEREMONY. and proceeded to scream. anyways, I think kids can be okay, but if you are really worried about kids doing something wild (which is to be expected anyways) then by all means do not have them. if you want everything to be 100% perfect... lol
