Letting baby sleep with blanket?

Hello, my son is almost 8 months old and he cought a cold over the weekend. He won't stay asleep unless he has his blanket. He likes it by his face and on his cheeks. Are you letting your little ones sleep with blankets yet?

My son has been sleeping with a blanket since he was 2 months old. He usually kicks it off of him now in the middle of the night.

Do what works best for you and your little one as long as your dr says it’s alright. Everyone is going to gove you their advice and you gotta take it with a grain of salt... someone is always going to have something to say

My youngest was born in August but I saw this on my feed and had to comment. Please, please do not let you 8 month old sleep with a blanket. Wait until atleast 12 months. There is a reason they strongly advise no blankets with infants. It will not be worth it if something goes wrong.

I wouldn’t if you plan of leaving him unattended otherwise if you can be watching him I think it’s okay I let my son when I’m with him right beside him but wouldn’t leave him alone with it and say hey see ya later dude lol he’s 7 months

My pediatrician said he’s good now to have a blanket and that was at his 6 month check up. My son is larger than most babies his age (99th percentile) he was 30in 1/2 long and 21 pounds. He’s now 8 months old and  I put him down with his blanket and thanks to God he loves it.

My daughter has had a blanket since day one it's a comfort thing for her she loves it. if you are concerned ask your ped

It’s not advisable - I think the suggestion is to wait until they are a year old.  However, we let our son nap with a loose blanket (hand knit with lots of holes or a breathable muslin blanket) when we are nearby.  I am not comfortable letting him sleep with a ‘solid’ blanket just yet, not worth the risk to me.  He loves his wearable blankets though,

I give mine a blanket every night, he looks for it otherwise. If you have questions as to why/why not give a blanket, ask your Ped.
