Should I prove my feminist opinion or not?

My class was talking about feminism today and I said "Why can guys get away with not shaving but women can't?" and that was twisted into "Why should you shave?" and many girls were talking about how it's important to shave if you're a female. I shave myself but I believe it is your opinion to, only society frowns upon it it is not against the law. I want to let my stubble grow out and wear shorts with my leg hair showing just to piss people off. Good idea or not?

I got really busy at work and didn't shave for a few weeks, then went to the ER because I had an incident. My MIL was helping me into my gown and noticed my stubble and asked what my DH thought of my legs, I said, "He doesn't pay much attention to my LEGS." That shut her up pretty quickly.

Feminism is all about making your own choices. I have hated body hair since before I knew what an unattainable standard of beauty was. I also keep my nails short for the same reason. If you want to shave, do it, if not, don't. The problem is when everyone starts saying "women should" when the only thing we "should" be doing is making our own choices based on what we like.

You know, I genuinely can't remember the last time I shaved my legs! My underarms only get done when they get stuck in my roll on and I only trim my hoo-haa. My SO honestly couldn't care less ☺

Do what makes you comfortable and encourage others to do the same. Doing something just to piss off people doesn't usually accomplish anything.

If feminism is a passion and you really want to open people's eyes to the problems of society today, then yes you should do it. Don't worry about what other people think of it because that's what you're trying to prove is wrong.

I chose not to shave most of the time. I try to shave in summer but not because I care what others think but because when I sweat I notice the deodorant doesn't do as well.  My legs I hardly ever shave.  My husband doesn't care.  If you feel strongly about making a point good on you.  But just be prepared for the people who can't see past society norm.

I haven't shaved my legs in over a year and not one person gives a hoot including my spouse. I wouldn't do it to prove a point. Some woman shave and some don't it's nobody's bussiness but their own and that is the point of feminism free to be who you are and since you shave on a regular basis that is obviously not who you are.
