Is it the same?

I am honestly so tired of everyone that has carried a 10lb baby comparing it to carrying twins. I just don't think its the same thing. My cousin, mother and mother-in-law have all recently said they carried 10lb babies and it's the same thing. Am I just being sensitive 😕

Not the same at all. Your body is giving life and creating two separate human beings, pumping extra blood, using more energy, taking more nutrients. Plus amniotic fluid and placentas for each baby. Some twins are born 6-8lbs each. Plus all the other stuff in their for them. If you want proof just compare bellies. Your uterus is also double the size of a singleton. A lot of ppl try to compare themselves, like when people say having kids close in age is the same or that twins is even easier than two kids close in age. I'm like uh did you deliver them at the same time? Did they share your uterus?  Did you breastfeed them at the same time? Did they learn to walk and talk at the same time? Did you have to buy two of everything at the exact same time?

Defiantly not the same, carrying one baby no matter the size can wear on you & make you sore & tired. Carrying two babies (twins) is double that, I have two kids ages 6 & 8 yrs old. & I'm now 26 weeks today with twins. This pregnancy is a million times harder than my other two, my other two I could do a lot, I worked till I was full term, my water actually broke at work when I was pregnant with my son. I'm excited to meet my babies, but it is def a much harder pregnancy, I didn't get morning sickness just like I didn't with my other pregnancies, but I for everything else times 2-3!! The Braxton hicks I've been getting since 17 weeks are getting more & more uncomfortable & becoming more frequent. I went to the doctors yesterday & he said I should've been on bed rest as of a week ago. I'm always on my feet, between working part time, the kids, appts. & errands. My feet & ankles are swollen so bad, I have severe edema the doctor said, he gave me compression stockings to where, & have to get a pregnancy belt tomorrow & see a prenatal chiropractor. The pains in my stomach, ribs & back are awful, & the sciatic nerve pains going down my lower back down my left leg, I could go on lol.. Twins are a blessing, but anyone that says it's a "easy" or that it's like carrying one baby/a 10lb baby don't have a clue what it's really like!!

I wouldn't believe it's the same... We have extra placentas extra fluids and whatever else extra in there... Then we have extra limbs & heads.... Not the same. U can't compare one butter ball to two....

I am also probably being emotional but I am so tired of the already-mamas telling me what I feel in MY pregnancy is so odd/weird/different.  Every body and pregnancy is so different! I had trouble sleeping because of hip pain starting at 23 weeks and a friend of a friend basically told me I was being a wuss and I shouldn't be having these pains "already." Regardless of how many babies you're carrying, your pregnancy is not going to be the same as anyone else's.  Sometimes people need to keep their un-helpful comments to themselves!

My husbands cousin had twin boys and they weighed 7 lbs EACH! Not the same hahah

Let me start off by saying that pregnancy alone is not easy! Having one or two or more take a toll on the body. There is no need for competition on what is the same and what not. Some people need to just shut their mouths and learn how to grow up and act as an adult. There is no need to be putting others down or making them feel any more or less of a person. Congrats on your twins mama! Believe me! I know it's tough and exhausting!!!! I'm so ready for these twins to come

My last baby was 9 pounds and way different than this time with twins. These twins are so much more taxing on my body.

I believe they are speaking to the weight and pressure. Anatomically, it is not the same due to 2 placentas, fluids etc. also there are far more complications that can arise with carrying twins. I was induced bc my first was on pace to be a 10 lb-er (so I'm nervous with this one). I think what they are trying to say is the pressure you feel in your hips and uterus, how sluggish etc. it's a feeling but definitely NOT the same. I say this I n the most respectful way possible but I'd rather carry 2 single 10 lb-ers back go back than carry twins. I have the utmost respect for multi mommas and all that you endure to bring your babies into the world!

I would assume that Twins would be way harder even if the weight combined were 10lbs that's two babies wrestling for space and sooo sooo much more fluid!
