Are we still segregated?

I’ve been doing a lot of driving around Southern California, and I noticed a pattern. There are some cities that appear to be mostly made up of one nationality. For example east La seems to be more densely populated with Hispanic people, where as just south of that seems to be more densely populated with Asian people. Then of course the “richer” cities seem to be densely populated with white people. And It got me thinking. Are we still segregated? And what is it that segregated us? Is it wealth? Is it still nationality/race? Is this intentional (as in a form of gov. Control) or are people simply just moving to cities with “like” people?

Is this just California, or does your state have significant differences in different cities when it comes to the culture or race in that city?
