who should talk me down the aisle?

So I have only met my dad four times in my whole life, I'm 25. My mother and grandpa both have passed away. I am not very close to my 3 uncles and I know if I picked 1 it would cause jealousy and a fight. I am fine with walking down myself even though it is not traditional. Or I can have my fiance's dad, even though him and I aren't super close.

You should pick someone who is important to you. It doesn’t have to be a man, though it could be a friend or family member who you’re close with.

I walked myself down the aisle. :) No reason to put an uncle or random person in that position just for the sake of having someone "give you away." If the important people in your life (mom and grandpa) have passed away, I think walking yourself down the aisle is a good idea.

The point of someone walking you down the aisle is to "give you away"... if the people who raised you are no longer alive, i think I would walk down myself and maybe hold a picture of the person who raised me while walking down the aisle. I kind of did something similar, although it wasn't because I didn't have my dad to walk me down the aisle... my grandma and uncle passed away and I wanted them to be able to be at my wedding. I ordered a tiny photo "frame" and attached it to my bouquet so they were with me on my wedding day.

my husband and I walked in together. we are both independent adults who decided together to get married. it felt weird to have someone else "giving me away" because I'd been living on my own for fifteen years. 
plus, it meant that we could have the first time we met in our wedding finery be a wonderful, intimate private moment. by the time we got to the church we were much less jittery.

My dad passed away less than a month before my wedding. I had my grandfather (his father) walk me down the aisle. I did that because I love my Grandpa and he is a very special person to me, especially after losing my dad. Do whatever will make your wedding day the happiest for you. Choose someone who loves and supports you.

I had my grandfather because I’m not close to my Dad and my stepdad didn’t feel comfortable (my Dad was causing drama). If my Grandfather wasn’t able, I had planned to ask one of my brothers.
