How many weeks??!

Question

Ok so can someone please tell me why the weeks start counting after my period ended? And why if I ovulated too weeks after my period so should I be pregnant after the ovulation period? I’m so very confused.

I think it is mostly for convenience. A woman may not know when she ovulated (especially if she was not actively trying to get pregnant), but she will most certainly know when she had her period.
In fact, it is very difficult to pinpoint ovulation exactly. We can rely on symptoms, modern conveniences (OPKs) and not so modern conveniences (measuring temperature), but all of these give only indications of when ovulation happened.
