9 month old tantrums?

My sweet baby girl will be 9 months old tomorrow, the last couple of days she has begun to throw tantrums. If she doesn’t get her way she tries to throw herself backwards and screams. I was not expecting tantrums to start this early? Anyone else going through this?

Yep right here! My son turned 9 months on the 11th, and for the past month or so if he’s grabbing the curtains or something he’s not supposed to, and I go to move him, he screams and hits me and kicks his legs.

mine throws them at bedtime, she screams as if we were trying to kill her by putting her down for bed... it doesn't matter what kind of day she's had or how many naps she did or didn't take. It's every...night... for the last 2 wks. Yay Us!!

oh. yes. my 8 month old has been throw them. mostly when he's out of food at dinner. or if He doesn't get his way.  good ones. I figuere d he learned it from the older babies in his class at baby school. I just try to ignore them.

That started around 7months for my little guy. There's always a reason for it though. He's just frustrated. It happens if he's overtired (something interrupted his nap schedule) or if we were out too much and he doesn't want to go back in his car seat. Things like that. If he's overtired, then all I can do is distract him. Take a break from trying to get him to sleep. Let him do something that will burn a little energy and then try again. He's stubborn, so I have to make him forget that he's fighting bedtime. For the other times--when it's just something happening that he doesn't want, but I can't avoid--then I talk calmly to him or play music and sing until he calms down. In general, just fix the problem or distract him. He can't say, "I really don't want to sit in my stroller right now," so he throws his head back, screams, and cries. I was surprised when he started it as well. I didn't realize it started that early 😅

my daughter has been doing it too, shes 9 months. mainly in the bath when we take away her starfish..total tantrum. 😅

My 8 month old does this now 😅 when he doesn't get his way. I usually just set him down, laugh, and say what are you doing B? He usually just smiles and moves on. I try not to make a big deal about it when he's just having a fit.

I either remove her from the situation and hold her while she flails or set her down on a soft surface. Sometimes I’ll try distracting her, by singing or showing her something else, other times I just talk to her after a while the tone and sound of my voice will calm her. I was not ready for tantrums, I thought they were going to start much later lol 😂😭
