Should race and gender be omitted from all applications?
This is kind of piggy backing off my last post “are we still segregated”.
When it comes to applications for housing, jobs, & credit is it really necessary to include ones race or gender? Often we find discriminatory practices under the guise of “a more suitable candidate” so while discrimination is illegal there’s still a loophole.
This got me thinking, if race and gender were omitted from applications do you feel this would force employers and property management to focus on other qualifications? As of right now I believe companies aren’t doing background checks for this reason (it may just be California) so why not omit race and gender as well?
