Do you think food companies/FDA lie about the quality of their foods?

Lately I’ve been noticing more meat in my grocery stores with claims of it being completely hormone and antibiotic free. I’ve also been seeing more and more random products claiming to being GMO free, artificial ingredient free, and more.

While I think this is EXCELLENT, and I have been purchasing these products despite their higher price tags, I have been wondering if it’s all completely truthful. What exactly is stopping Tyson meats for example from adding antibiotics/hormones, claiming they don’t? What is stopping Golden apples from claiming not to be genetically modified, when they really are? Could this all be a front to hike prices? Do you think the FDA allows companies to omit certain unsavory ingredients on their nutrition labels?

Yeah I know I sound like a crazy conspiracy theorist, lol. I don’t believe either way, just something I’ve been thinking about. What do you think?
