How far along are you? The gentials are formed and visible after 12 weeks. Which is why you can fina Out gender on an 4d/3D and sometimos if baby is laying perfect on a 2d.

This is from babycenter.com it's too early to be able to see anything on ultrasound, you're probably seeing the umbilical cord. Congrats though!
