Braxton hicks or contractions?

Is anybody else getting Braxton Hicks like crazy? how do you tell the difference between bh and contractions? My entire belly tightens so much, pretty often too. They're uncomfortable but not painful.

track them to see how far apart they are and how long they last. if there is a pattern and they are painful and don't go away with water, rest, and or a bath they are probably real and call your OB to see what they want you to do

I truly hated it when people told me "you'll just know" with my first. You don't. Not until you've had the real thing.  Braxton Hicks can be strong and painful. It is really more about rhythm and time as well as pain levels. If they're regular, getting closer together/stronger, can't get them to go away with the usual routine (pee, drink water, rest), or accompanied by bleeding or gush of fluid at least call your doctor or go straight to L&D.; They'd much rather check you and it be no big deal than be too late.

“Real” contractions generally are painful...but there are some people who have very mild contractions...so that is not a hard rule.

I have been having Braxton Hicks since 28 weeks I'm now 31 weeks and 4 days. it's normal it's your body getting ready... as long as the pain isn't unbearable. this is my fourth baby and I had them with both girls... but not my boys
